The Oak Associates Funds consist of seven mutual funds representing shareholders in a variety of industries. The organization is maintained by Oak Associates, ltd. In addition to overseeing the Oak Funds, the investment group also collaborates with Oak Clinic for Multiple Sclerosis, located in Akron, Ohio.
Founded in 2000, nonprofit organization Oak Clinic offers a number of resources for, and conducts research on behalf of, individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). This debilitating disease attacks the central nervous system and scars nerve cell tissue.
To assist those affected by MS, Oak Clinic holds free exercise classes weekly and a stress management group that meets twice a month; these services are available not only to people with MS but also to their families and friends. Program participants benefit from low impact activities such as yoga (Tuesdays from 4:00-5:30 PM and Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 PM) and water aerobics (Fridays 10:00-11:00 AM), which improve flexibility and ease stress-induced tension. Further, members have the opportunity to develop their own Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), as well as to socialize and build friendships.
